The Esquimalt Chamber of Commerce awarded Ken Gustafson, co-owner of Serious Coffee Esquimalt, the Best Retrofit of a Business Award. This award goes to a business in the Esquimalt community that best retrofits a space. The space that is now Serious Coffee Esquimalt, use to be a deli before Ken took possession and completely recreated it. Serious Coffee Esquimalt had a complete makeover that included the construction of a mezzanine area that overlooks the room below. With food ranging from bagels to meat pies having the mezzanine area makes Serious Coffee Esquimalt an ideal location to host meetings or for groups to prearrange to meet for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
