Laura Moss came to work for Serious Coffee Courtenay on October 10, 2008. Starting on her first day, Laura had decided until December 31, 2008 she would save her tips and donate half the proceeds, which ended up being $150.00, to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Many people make well-meaning pledges to do something for others but in Laura’s case, she made not only the financial but personal sacrifice to stick to her commitment. When we, at Serious Coffee, speak of striving for excellence in all that we do, Laura’s determination, selfless contribution and desire to help find a cure for a horrible disease, typifies the very definition of the word. |
Laura, we wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge your accomplishment but more importantly to encourage you to continue being a shining example to us all. None of us can say that we can’t make a difference when there are people such as you leading the way in positively impacting our communities.
To all those within Serious Coffee that we may have not heard about, we appreciate all your efforts!  |
